Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles at 2808 E Washington Blvd, El Borrego De Oro Restaurant #2 is a must-visit destination for anyone craving an authentic Mexican and Latin American culinary experience. This charming taco and Mexican restaurant masterfully blends traditional flavors with fresh, high-quality ingredients, delivering dishes that are as comforting as they are memorable.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere where friendly staff provide attentive service that makes every visit feel like a special occasion. The buzz of conversation and the enticing aromas of spiced meats and slow-cooked broths instantly awaken your senses, setting the stage for a truly immersive dining experience.

The menu is a delightful showcase of classic Mexican favorites and innovative twists. Start your day with their celebrated breakfast options such as the hearty Breakfast Burrito—loaded with bacon, chorizo, pork sausage, eggs, pico de gallo, hash browns, cheddar, serrano, aioli, and salsa roja—each bite bursting with bold, savory flavors and a perfect balance of textures. For a sweeter touch, the Liam’s Waffle features Belgian waffles topped with fresh berries, vanilla whip, and real maple syrup, dusted elegantly with powdered sugar, creating a morning treat that lingers in your memory.

If you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, the Caldo De Albondigas meatball soup is a standout—a rich, comforting broth with tender meatballs, served alongside rice and four handmade corn tortillas. For a lighter yet equally satisfying option, the Sopa De Fideo offers delicate noodles in a perfectly seasoned broth, capturing the essence of home-cooked Mexican comfort food.

Coffee enthusiasts will be delighted by their exceptional beverage offerings. Imagine the soothing warmth of a Vanilla Latte, where homemade vanilla syrup infuses every creamy sip, or the earthy vibrance of a Turmeric Latte enhanced with organic turmeric, Ceylon cinnamon, and steamed milk. Matcha lovers won’t be disappointed by the authentic organic ceremonial matcha lattes, hand whisked to frothy perfection and balancing vegetal notes with velvety smoothness—an unexpected but wonderful complement to the spicy, savory flavors on the plate.

Customers consistently praise El Borrego De Oro for its authentic taste and outstanding service. Jennifer Arias shares, “It’s soooo good! Me encantó este lugar! While prices might be a bit on the higher side, as noted by some visitors, the rich flavors and quality ingredients justify making this a special treat worth savoring. Whether you’re after a lively breakfast spot, a cozy place for lunch, or an authentic dining adventure with friends or family, El Borrego De Oro Restaurant #2 delivers with heart and soul—capturing the spirit of Mexican cuisine in every dish.

If we're talking about great food, delicious sauces and a specialty in barbacoa, Borrego de Oro is the spot. This particular location is special for being larger than the original, hence the better seating arrangement. Service is always friendly, although sometimes if busy it can be a little unorganized but they'll tend to your table promptly. You do have to take the waitress receipt to the counter and pay it prior to the meal. Make sure you do that otherwise your food won't be prepared. I especially suggest any of the barbacoa dishes, including the gorditas (my mother-in-law's personal favorites), green chilaquiles with asada and egg, sunny side up to pop the yolk and let it run down the tortilla chips and meat I'm telling you: this spot is a great place for a delicious meal.
